I started Project Cyan in 2004 so that I could offer small companies an affordable and convenient way to make their online presence really shine. Smaller companies can rarely afford an in-house IT person or web designer, and I wanted to be able to fill that need for the company. Outsourcing gives them the flexibilty they need to gain an edge in the marketplace. My niche market is startups, particularily those involved in greyhound rescue
To augment my website and graphic design skills, I am about to complete my BS in Computer Science. My goal is to add custom software applications to the list of services offered by Project Cyan.
In addition to Project Cyan, I also own Santa Clarita Music Co., Inc., a full service music store that offers private lessons, instruments for sale and rent, and repairs. SCMC is located in Saugus, California, and is becoming very successful.
In 2004, I was elected to the Board of Directors of Greyhound Pets of America, California - Orange County and Greater Los Angeles Chapter. GPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding good, loving homes for racing greyhounds after they have retired. Our chapter is dedicated to the Caliente racetrack in Tijuana, Mexico; each year, we transition over 300 greyhounds from the track life to the pet life. After being appointed webmaster for the organization in 2004, I redesigned the website, and have also introduced new sections, such as the photo gallery, improved e-commerce shopping, and online feedback. In the first two months after going live with the new shopping section, our dedicated collar maker saw a 700 percent increase in sales. In 2006, I was elected as President of the Board of Directors. It was a great honor for me, and I found a lot of success in my continued efforts with the group. Due to different philosophies, I chose to leave the group later that year, and I started my own group so that I could better effect change within the greyhound community. The new group placed over 70 greyhounds in its first year, and I consider that a rousing success, and a solid contribution to greyhound rescue.
I also designed and maintain the site for Afghan Hound Rescue of Southern California, a really great group of people who are truly rescuing dogs in need. They are tireless and never turn down an Affie, and they see some really sad cases of abuse. My hat is off to them for their work.
If you are interested in more information on any of the non-profit groups, please don't hesitate to contact me. I am always looking for volunteers to help with the groups, and any involvement you can offer would be very much appreciated.
