A New Year...

....means new projects!!! Over the last year or so, I've collected patterns, project ideas, and fabrics that have caught my interest.  In the last year, I've also become much more organized, and am learning how to better consolidate tasks and projects to improve output time.  I've also acquired stronger skills in a number of areas, and am better equipped to deal with challenges, which also has improved both the quality and the efficiency of my work.  So that means that I have big expectations for myself this year!  I have compiled my list of projects I would like to accomplish this year.  While I know it isn't likely that I will finish all of them within the next twelve months, I thought it would be fun to see how many I would actually get done.  This is probably not the best year to try this plan, because this is also the final year of my Master's program; I have four classes left to take, plus the large, 18 week capstone project. I am expecting, if all goes well with the capstone scheduling, to attend graduation ceremonies in Michigan in June, and will hopefully finish the capstone in August. If last year is any indication, I likely will get a minimal amount of project work done during the first half of the year, until I finish school. But, there is no time like the present to start and see how much I can accomplish, and so I am going to post my list of things I'd like to at least get started this year.

Have Moss Green Taffeta, need netting.  Also, possibly the Russian bodice.

These aren't in any particular order, except that I am currently working on the Regency gown underpinings, and am planning on finishing this entire project first.

The list does look a little daunting, but in 2011, I finished:

The 1885 Victorian walking suit in Amethyst, with a lightly bustled petticoat, underskirt, overskirt, long sleeved bodice, and hat;
Complete black Victorian mourning outfit, including a bustled petticoat, underskirt, overskirt, ballgown bodice, 3/4 sleeve bodice, and a hat;
Steampunk googles, masquerade mask, and arm warmers;
Black Steampunk corset with straps and buckles;
Black Kilt
Black velvet tutu
Amethyst and black Victorian butterfly train;
White Swan tutu with headpiece;
1950's party dress with cocktail hat and black fleece coat;
Two victorian corsets;
Twelve pairs of greyhound, whippet, or crestie jammies;
Three fleece jackets;
Two martingale greyhound collars;
Two 1890 Victorian bathing suits;
A laptop sleeve;
And an Elizabethan ruff.

Whew!!!

That's 6 major projects, and a bunch of smaller projects, so maybe I CAN make a big dent in this year's list! : )
