Welcome!

Project Cyan is finally undergoing a major website redesign! Please bear with me as I get things sorted out and rearranged.  I'm excited to finally have a place to consolidate  my blogs, my costuming, my website design portfolio, and anything else I feel like putting up.

I imported all my previous blogs from WordPress, and did quite a bit of customizing on the displays on this site, so I have to go back through the older blog entries and fix the pictures so everything looks consistent. I am sure this is going to take some time! But in the end, it's all so worth it, I love this new site and all of the new features. : )

I know, I have to stop this, but I can't.  It's an illness.  And people are feeding it.  I have another item to add to the "You can sell anything on the internet" list...  Are you ready?

So, I was doing god-knows-what on the internet, and my eye was caught by one of the those damned advertisements on the side of the webpage.   I'm not even sure what site it was on, it's not like I look at veggie porn...

Magic Veggie Set

Check it out - you can CUT them using the little plastic knife.  You have to cut them on the little cutting board, which is ironic, since how much damage can that little plastic knife do?

Okay, after multiple times of pleating the skirt and attaching it, then removing it, I think I finally got it right.  The front sections are pleated normally, and the back is cartridge pleated with 18 pleats. (The Tudor Tailor recommended only 8 pleats, but I noticed that that creates odd angles about a foot below the pleats from the excess fabric, and I didn't like how that looked.)  I will also likely wear a jeweled belt or ribbon at the waistline, although the pleats are well done and it would like fine without.

I have the bodice fully lined (yay!), the skirt is lined and ready to go on (yay!) and yet I so do not feel like cartridge pleating right this minute, so I am going to screw around and post a blog instead.

The not-so-in-the-closet-geek comes out.  :-)   I like to sew.  But not normal things.  Not MUNDANE things.  I like sewing strange things like four-legged greyhound pajamas (for the last time, they have no FAT and thin HAIR!!!)  and garb.  No "get-up", as my sister refers to it, not costumes, but GARB.  Garb, for the uninitiated, is the fancy way for referring to one's "get-up." I think it might be the latin present-tense of the verb garber, which means "person with too much time on his/her hands."
